The Bloggie Awards
The results are finally in:
Best Asian Weblog
Tokyo Girl Down Under
The Finalists for Best Asian Blog all deserve a look. They are wonderfully diverse. Unlike Tokyo Girl they are truly Asia based:
And OMBW ( I was an also-ran)

Best British or Irish Weblog
Best Latin American Weblog

Best Sports Weblog
Best Weblog About Music

Best GLBT Weblog
My condolences to the other finalists who are truly representative of GLBT culture, humor, politics, llifestyle and celebration. This is my only truck with popular vote contests. Perez Hilton is to GLBT blogs what Rush Limbaugh is to political radio: entertainment! Visit the finalists:
Best Writing of a Weblog
And this guy can shape a story! Waiter Rant!
Best Group Weblog
Best Community Weblog and
Weblog of the Year
One of those “I wish I had thought of it” blogs that takes you through the full spectrum of emotions evry single visit!
Best New Weblog
Best-Kept Secret Weblog
Confessions of a Pioneer Woman
Congrats all….
As a postscript: I hope the folks over at The Asia Blog Awards revive their contest. They had the best formula in the blogsphere: Popular vote, Technorati rank, Distinguished Judges scores ….

Thank you from Panama!

Thanks for the shout out!
As I observed in my post about the results, comparing LesbianFamily.org to PerezHilton isn’t like comparing apples to oranges, its like comparing grilled cheese sandwiches to tequila. Or given the vastly different size of our readerships, like comparing a grilled cheese sandwich to a tequila bottling plant.
I’m glad I had a chance to check out your site, and thanks again.
I like reading your blog coz it’s like a breath of fresh air among the “oh, I went for a bikini wax”, or “oh, I ate lobster sushi”, or “oh, I met Perez Hilton” type of blogs.
Keep up the good work and hoping you have better luck with the local authorities.
